Ootori-jinja Festival
As you could see from previous posts - now is the shrine carrying season in Tokyo. On most weekends some part or other of the city is shutdown for local organisations to carry their shrine around the streets and into the local temple to be blessed. This all goes back to the agricultural roots of the country and just like harvest festivals in Europe, it was a chance for the farmers to thank the Gods for a good harvest and let their hair down and have a good time. …
Jiyugaoka Festival
My buddy Dave from ShootTokyo called the other day to tell me that a festivalw as underway in the part of Tokyo where he lives - Jiyugaoka - and I should head down and have a look as it could be a good chance to take some photos. More Square Than Usual
I enjoyed myself so much with my Hasselblad wandering around Nakameguro, I decided to go back and reel of some more rolls of both Black & White and colour. I really love the way this camera (well lens really) renders Black and White - especially wth my usual Fuji ACROS 100 and Kodak TMax 400 films - plus I took a roll of Fuji Velvia 100 to get some colour. …
